RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — Health Net Federal Services has announced today that RediClinic’s network of retail-based health care clinics inside Wal-Mart stores in the Richmond, Va. area will provide coverage to TRICARE North beneficiaries beginning Nov. 1.

Health Net Federal Services’ president, Steve Tough, announced Health Net’s enthusiasm to work with RediClinic to provide TRICARE coverage, and RediClinic’s chief executive officer Web Golinkin also said: “RediClinic is delighted that military families in the Greater Richmond area can now take advantage of the high-quality, affordable health care we offer in our nine Virginia locations. … We also look forward to continuing our discussions with Health Net Federal Services to enhance accessible health care for military personnel throughout the TRICARE North Region.”

RediClinic is staffed by trained and certified nurse practitioners who provide patients with a number of healthcare services such as wellness screenings, physicals examinations, preventive services and vaccinations. Patients can visit RediClinics days a week and walk-in patients are welcome.

There are nine RediClinics in the Richmond, Va., area and two of them, the Chester clinic and the Colonial Heights clinic, are located within minutes of the Fort Lee U.S. military base. Officials said that extending TRICARE coverage is particular important now that the military population is expecting to grow due to base realignments and closures.
