ELMSFORD, N.Y. (Jan. 25) BioScrip will acquire a home infusion services provider that specializes in chronic and acute medical conditions, the specialty pharmacy company announced Monday.

BioScrip said it would acquire Critical Homecare Solutions for $343.2 million in cash and stock, expanding its home infusion and home healthcare services division by 35 specialty infusion pharmacies, including 16 ambulatory treatment centers, and 33 nursing locations, expanding BioScrip to a total of 110 locations nationwide.

“As a result of the transaction, BioScrip will become one of the largest home infusion providers in the United States, with a stronger and broader clinical services infrastructure,” BioScrip chairman and CEO Richard Friedman said.
